NOTICE TO CLUBS

NZ High Goal Tournament

New Zealand Polocrosse in conjunction with Counties Polocrosse Club are proposing a High Goal Tournament on the 10 & 11 March 2018. This is to replace the Sponsors Carnival to breathe new life into the Sponsors concept and provide new sponsorship opportunities.

This is a new concept we are piloting to help promote our sport to new avenues and to showcase polocrosse at a high level.

The event will include:

  • Junior matches
  • Intermediate Matches
  • Invitational Matches with top NZ players selected
  • New Zealand Ladies playing Queensland Ladies for the Coopers Cup

This event will be run at Abderry Equestrian Centre, 588 Glenbrook Road, Karaka.

We hope that the members of New Zealand Polocrosse will support this event and help grow our sport.

For further information please contact Aimee Robinson (g.rob@xtra.co.nz) or Tania Jones (tania@jesmond.co.nz).

Thanks

Raewyn Saunders-Loder Secretary / Treasurer New Zealand Polocrosse Inc

Unfortunately the first two tournaments of the season to be held at Kaitieke and Kaikohe on the 6th and 7th January were cancelled due to a tropical storm that hit the country.

Pouto Polocrosse Club and Ashhurst Polocrosse club were able to hold their tournaments over the weekend of the 13th & 14th of January. The weather at both these venues enabled the events to run without a hitch.

Pouto polocrosse club had more teams than they have ever hosted previously with Putaruru - Tirau entering three teams and the inclusion of some Queensland Junior players who participated in a Junior Coaching camp during the week leading up to the tournament. These two tournaments were the last chance for Associations to tweak their teams before the New Zealand Junior and Intermediate Championships being held at Island Reserve Otorohanga - hosted by TeMata Polocrosse Club on the 20th and 21st January.

The associations taking part are:

Northland - Auckland - Waikato - Central Plateau - King Country - Rangatikei / Manawatu - Wanganui / Waimarino
