New Zealand Open Team ‘Inbound and Outbound Tours’ 2019/2020 Season

Tours:

7/8th March – Sponsors Carnival, Otorohanga

NZ Mixed Team v Victoria State Mixed Team

Team to comprise of 4 women and 4 men players

Players will be required to have two playing horses each

13/14th June – Coopers Shield in Bowen, Queensland – ****see note below

NZ Mixed Team v Queensland Mixed Team

Team to comprise of 3 women and 3 men players. Each section is to have 1 x Masters player,

1 x Open player (over 21 years), 1 x Intermediate player (under 21 years)

Masters Men are over 50 yrs / Woman are over 40 yrs

Players who are named in this side will be required to attend two practise weekends (venue TBA):16/17th May&30/31st May

*** Note – this team is not a pre requisite for any World Cup selection.

21/22/23rd August – Test Series - Warwick, Queensland

NZ Women’s team (7 players) v Australia Women’s team

NZ Men’s team (7 players) v Australia Men’s team

Both teams play one game each on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Players who are named in this side will be required to attend three practise weekends (venue TBA):11/12th July,25/26th July&8/9th August

Trial Games:

1/2nd February – Kakatahi Carnival:

Trial games Saturday night.More info re these games to follow.

At the end of this carnival the team to play the Victoria Mixed Team at the sponsors carnival will be named.

14/15th March – Otorohanga Carnival:

Trial games Saturday night. More info re these games to follow.

The team to travel to Bowen to compete in the Coopers Cup will be named at Nationals.

The Men’s and Women’s teams to travel to Warwick in August will be named at Nationals.

Player Eligibility:

To be available for selection for any New Zealand Representative team the player must meet the following criteria –

To be eligible to represent New Zealand you must be a New Zealand Citizen or meet the New Zealand Polocrosse residential criteria – as per By-Law 6.1 below.

By-Law 6.1: Eligibility To Represent New Zealand

Any New Zealand player who has represented another country has a 2-year stand-down period before being eligible to represent New Zealand.

Any other Nationality, other than New Zealand, is required to be a permanent resident in New Zealand for 2 years before becoming eligible.
