This was an amazing trip and experience and I would like to firstly thank some
people.
- The New Zealand Polocrosse association for giving me this opportunity
- Robin Cave for organising my stay with a fantastic family
- Alistair Cumming
for his support and belief in me,
- Ken Wrigley from Domhealth for his
contribution towards the trip
- and of course mum and dad for their continual
support and encouragement.
I set off on June 29th for Brisbane to be picked up by Christine Franklin and
driven to Beaudesert about a 90 minute drive from Brisbane. The Frankins (Chris, Christine, Johnny and Samantha ) were wonderful to me and Made me feel
very much at home immediately.
They are all fantastic riders and taught me a
lot.

Leroy Jolly - Queensland junior scholarship recipient with his horse Legacy. An ASH belonging to the Franklin family. Legacy played in the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup.
|
They gave me "Legacy", a registered Australian stock horse to ride. She
had been played in the last world cup.
The first tournament we went to was in Tansey, I played for The Gold Coast club and we won all our games
The following weekend we were off to Kilarney and the next tournament was the coopers cup held in Toowoomba
Unfortunately the 4th tournament was cancelled and so Towoomba was my last.
This trip gave me the opportunity to learn heaps about horses and horsemanship
and also how the Australian 's play Polocrosse,
It has made me want to go back when I can, as its great to be able to play in
our winter.
I was sad to leave but am keen for the new season to start here.
If you get the scholarship next year, you're very lucky, you will have a
fantastic time!
Thanks again to everyone involved.
