From Polocrosse Queensland
To All Polocrosse players and members,
At this stage we are still hoping to hold the State Championships at Chinchilla this coming weekend.
The situation is changing hourly and we are continuing to monitor it closely. With more cases of Equine Influenza being confirmed, the possibility of the DPI extending its present 72 hour lock down (which expires on Tuesday) appears more likely.
We plan to run this weekend at Chinchilla if at all possible, even if the event has to be reduced to a 2 day carnival.
If this horse movement lock-down is extended we obviously won't be able to run.
The Chinchilla Club has spent a lot of time & money preparing for this event, we had 89 teams nominated.
If we are forced to abandon this weekend we will be seriously considering running a 2 day carnival at Chinchilla the following weekend (8th & 9th September).
I will circulate another update later today, or earlier if the present situation changes dramatically.
For DPI updates log into the PX website www.polocrosse.com.au and follow the links through from the News &/or State Championships pages.
Regards Philip Hughes
State President.
